yesterday morning was in the 40s in the afternoon high 70s. Metro as luck would have it had heated cars in the morning: Thanks Metro . But in the evening they still had all the heaters on. I rode blue, yellow, and orange on the way home and none had air conditioning. I like the heat so it didn't really bother me but several people made a big deal out of it.

coming in this morning there was a train that went out of service at l'enfant plaza ...

the underground tunnels of crystal city were plastered for over 4 months with pictures from the photo week contest that was held in DC back in November 2009. However what I found extremely curious were the pictures that won were almost all (95%) pro Obama. For example one of the pictures showed him 'crying' with a brave face. Another of him body surfing (probably in Hawaii), another showing his victory, another of his inauguration, etc. I'm sure you get the picture. It seemed to be if you presented ...

this morning a single patch of snow remained at new carrollton 2 feet by 3 feet. -- 6am


Today when I came home 6pm the final snow patch was gone....


the track layer is still working away on the amtrak line. a new 3rd line is definitely in place.

New Carrollton Metro has a nice size patch of Snow left... lets see how long that one lasts.

also the automatic track layer has added a new line at new carrollton which later splits into 4 lines where as it used to be just 2 lines splitting to 3. and a lot of old ties are being taken out and replaced with new ones.

walking by the pentagon this afternoon, the final patch of snow was gone.

goodbye to winter. I guess as clinton says Gore says that spring is proof there is global warming...

Therefore, the absence of snow at the pentagon is proof spring has arrived.
